I co-produced an audio documentary: “Making the Teaching Profession a Home for Native Educators.” The piece was also a bonus episode for the Changing Course podcast in March 2023.
While writing stories for One Day, I moonlit as a production assistant on the award-winning podcast, Changing Course. During the second season, I worked on investigative projects from pitch to publish: archival research, pulling great takes, editing, mixing, and honing my amateur sound design skills.
As a film fellow at John Hopkins University, I gathered documentary footage and oral histories from formerly incarcerated individuals, chaplains, and prison employees. The community archival project culminated in producing this podcast episode in November 2021.
Through voice notes, dinner table recordings, and home videos, a Dominican and Haitian-American friendship becomes the lens for an interwoven family archive. The film explores first-gen identity, diaspora, and intergenerational memory, while questioning why records of these histories remain in colonial archives like Spain’s Archivo General de Indias.

I co-directed this short film as an artist-in-residence at the 7ajr School of Creative Research/Resistance, a workshop grounded in DIY storytelling and Palestinian contexts of solidarity. Bringing together art and design students and practitioners from around the world, we explored a shared theme: family archives as catalysts for narrative and collective memory making. You can view the cohort’s final films here. In addition to the U.S., the films have screened in Japan, Canada and Palestine.
Produced a short, collaborative feature on a generational family business and Baltimore landmark, Faidley Seafood, before it moves locations. Learned the entire process of making a short documentary, from videography and pre-production to shooting, storyboarding, and editing.

In this videography workshop, I collaborated on creating profiles of Baltimore social justice activists, bringing attention to those who often work quietly and out of view to effect meaningful change. Met advocates involved with a range of causes, from food equity to LGBTQ rights to youth engagement to violence prevention. Worked together with fellows as a crew: researching, interviewing, shooting B-roll, and editing to make several short final videos.

One Day I translated and provided subtitles in Spanish for a short doc on Dylan Lewis, an English teacher who talks about how his classroom is a safe space for all students.
